CBE is among the seventy-six award-winning companies rewarded for contributing to innovating in their sector, through the use of innovative digital tools

At the recent SMAU trade fair held in Milan from 24 to 26 of October, CBE received the SMAU Innovation Award Milan 2017. This acknowledgment was conferred to seventy-six Italian companies that have innovated in their sector through the use of innovative digital tools. Specifically for CBE, innovation was driven by their SAP Business One ERP software, capable of managing and monitoring production processes, orders and warehouse stocks at its three production sites located in northern Italy and Tunisia. In response to increased demand in wiring harnesses and components dedicated to electrical and electronic systems for recreational vehicles, CBE has expanded the capacity of all its production sites. This proved to be a far more demanding choice than relying on outsourcers, requiring a continuous, fully traceable and especially complex to manage planning/production/delivery cycle. The company thus opted for the SAP Business One ERP software solution, integrating it with an LPOne add-on by InformEtica Consulting (dedicated to managing production processes), applying a range of customizations that have transformed this software application into a tailor-made system for CBE’s specific needs.

The award was presented to Italy Sales Manager Dorian Sosi, who was also invited to participate in a round table discussion on “Industry 4.0: innovation in products, processes and services,” which was broadcast in streaming on the SMAU website.

“We’re especially proud of this award, since it has placed a mid-sized company such as CBE alongside other winners who are industry giants, such as Ducati Moto, Pirelli, Grimaldi Group, Gruppo Würth and Intesa San Paolo,” states Dorian Sosi. “As manufacturers of electronic devices and technology for the caravanning sector, we have an ongoing commitment to research and development, aimed at improving the level of innovation of our products. We’re very pleased to see that our philosophy has also been transferred to the management of internal processes. This award bears witness to the fact that the road we have undertaken is the right one.”

Indeed, thanks to SAP Business One, CBE exercises complete control over its production cycle, providing better planning, sourcing and management of deliveries, with a consequent improvement in the use of production resources. CBE installed the solution in 2013, and since then has constantly increased its turnover, upto over 80% in exports.
